Yu Xue

Yu jointed the PaInT group as a PhD student in 2017. She obtained the degree of Master of Science from University of Helsinki in 2016, with (analytical) chemistry as major subject. Her master thesis was focused on the analysis of short-chain amines in different sample matrices.
Her PhD research is aimed to improve the insight in distribution and behavior of conditioning chemicals (and their breakdown products) in steam-water cycles. Various analytical methods, based on for instance LC-MS and ion chromatography, will be developed and modified for measurements of specific targets. This research is comprised of studies on both lab-scale and full-scale steam-water systems. Her work is conducted within ISPT project with partners from industrial companies and research and knowledge institutes
