Biography
Maxime is a PhD candidate at the Department of Political Science at Ghent University. He holds a master’s degree in Political Science - Belgian politics (2018, Ghent University). His main research interests are federalism, ethno-territorial politics, and party politics, with a particular focus on Belgium. Maxime currently prepares a PhD dissertation (FWO; 2019-2023) in which he combines these topics. Building on the literature on divided societies, consociationalism, federalism, and party politics, the goal of the study is to map the evolution of the ethno-territorial conflict in Belgian politics and to explain its prevalence.
